Phoenix International Raceway is one mile with a shorter banked with three oval tracks. It is situated in Phoenix in Avondale, Arizona. It is named on the nearest place of Phoenix’s Metropolitan area. It hosts two Nascar events on an annual basis. Raceway hosts other events like Rolex Sports Car Series, CART, IndyCar Series, and USAC. International Speedway Corporation now operates this raceway. Phoenix first constructed with 2.5 miles course that is operated in and out of the original tri-oval. Interior layout of 1.51 miles was reconstructed in 1991. The main owner of this raceway is International Raceway Corporation. With the capacity of 67000 grandstand seats, people can enjoy the race in Phoenix Raceway. In the addition of 2nd annual Nascar race weekend in 2004 the light were installed around the track. Raceway has Asphalt surface. It has a dogleg oval of length 1 mile with four turns and each turn has different banking degrees i.e. First and Second turn has 10 to 12 degree, the Third turn has 8 degree and fourth turn has 8 to 9-degree banking. Two yearly events of Nascar race weekends have been facilitated by Phoenix Raceway. More than one race weekend has been hosted by the raceway from Nascar’s thirteen most desirable facilities.

Roadside has the mountain hills and it's providing the vantage point to enjoy the race. Originally this place was the land survey point then later it is called as the state of Arizona. Nascar began its racing events on this track in 1978 and the current events of Nascar which is hosted by Phoenix Raceway are Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series. At Phoenix Raceway’s first turn there are a three-story suites which increase the grandstand capacity of 30000. The first race of the Nascar event was won by Alan Kulwicki and its celebration was done with the first Polish Victory Lap.

Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) changed its name to Jeff Gordon Raceway for the event of Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 to give the tribute to Gordon on June 11, 2015. It was his last Nascar season as serving the full-time racer in 2015.
In November 2016 before the Nascar cup it was announced that there will be a renovation of worth $200 million which will be expected to complete in almost two years.

PIR hosts most events of Nascar and other series which currently include Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series, Verizon IndyCar Series, Nascar Xfinity Series, Nascar Camping World Truck Series, Indy Lights, Nascar K&N Series West and Nascar Mexico Series. The previous seasons includes Atlantic Championship, CART, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, SRL Southwest Tour/Nascar Autozone Elite Division, Southwest, USAC Indycar, USAC Silver Crown Camp Series, and USAC Honda National Midget Championship.

Park and ride schedule in Phoenix Raceway has been announced on November 13, 2016 which encouraged the fans to enjoy the shuttle service to and from the Nascar Sprint Cup Series.
